Corporate social responsibility strategy or policy

Purpose

The purpose of the Corporate Social Responsibility Policy is to highlight the corporate social responsibility principles and practices to which Cogito Group aspires, so that Cogito Group can achieve the highest standards of responsible business practice and sustainability.


Scope

The adoption of a CSR Policy enhances our core values of integrity, respect, trust and accountability and recognises that failure to achieve compliance with policy objectives may lead to loss of reputation.

Cogito Group is committed to acting ethically and responsibly in all areas of its operations and as a consequence Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) will inform our decisions and actions.


Definitions 

  • Sustainability: Give effect to the Sustainability recognises the interdependence of economic, social and environmental objectives in ensuring the long-term viability of the organisation
  • Corporate Social Responsibility: commitment to recognise and manage its impact on society and to see that its own business activities and, where practicable those of supplier organisations are being undertaken in a socially and environmentally responsible manner.
  • Ethics:  The written and unwritten codes of principles and values that govern Cogito decisions and actions

Policy Statement

Cogito acknowledges the importance of corporate social responsbility. We are committed to ensuring this in a sustainable, financial and technically feasible approach through the development, implementation and maintenance of policy objectives. To this end we strive for:

  • Corporate Governance, Law and Standards – Integrity
  • Operate ethically, with integrity and cultural sensitivity in employing clear standards of corporate governance, respecting the rule of Law and striving to achieve the most ethical standards of normative international corporate behaviour
  • Human Rights – Respect – Respect fundamental human rights and the dignity of people by actively promoting equal opportunity, equality and diversity irrespective of race, ethnic or national origins, gender, sexuality, disability, marital status and religious belief
  • Accountability and Transparency – Trust – Be accountable and transparent and, subject to privacy and other obligations, using internationally recognised frameworks for CSR and sustainability reporting;

  • Approval and review of the Policy Objectives

  • Operational responsibility for implementation

The  Policy will be implemented through:

  • Development, implementation, maintenance and periodic review of our organizational practices
  • Development and implementation of annual action plans

  • This Policy is reviewed every three years.
