At Cogito Group, we understand the time and commitment it takes to achieve success. Passion is a key ingredient to accomplishing our goals and at Cogito Group we are not only passionate about our work in the IT industry, but also passionate about helping others achieve their goals.
Cogito Group are proud to sponsor Chris Hamer, a Canberra based marathon runner. Chris has recently been selected to represent Australia in the Commonwealth Games Marathon on the Gold Coast in April.
Chris started enjoying athletics as a young boy where he joined the Box Hill Athletics club in Victoria. He moved to Canberra in 2014 to train under coach Dick Telford and pursue his vision to represent Australia and compete at an elite level in a range of distances. He qualified for the Commonwealth Games in 2014 for the 10,000m race with a time of 28:18, unfortunately having to pull out of the team due to injury.
His most recent races include a marathon in Amsterdam with a time of 2:13:32 and a half marathon in Marugame, Japan finishing in 1:02:29.

Chris is very grateful for the support that Cogito Group is providing him along his journey “As an athlete and an accountant, I understand the time and commitment it takes to run a successful business. I have seen firsthand the passion and dedication that Richard and Bernadette have committed to making Cogito a successful business and an industry leader. I am proud to represent Cogito Group because I share and believe in their values and standards of excellence. I am humbled by their support as they have backed me before anyone else, and by supporting me have enabled me to train and prepare to the best of my ability to represent Australia.”
We look forward to seeing how his marathon goes on Sunday 15th April 2018 at 8.15am AEST. If you would like to learn more about Chris you can view his website or follow him on Instagram.
